Army Chief General Joseph Aoun addressed military personnel, saying: "I congratulate you on the accomplishment you achieved today by providing security and order for the electoral process. The efforts you made and the responsibility you exhibited are what created a safe environment to complete this important event, and you resolved several issues quickly and professionally."
He added: "Despite the crisis we are going through, you were fully prepared to take on the responsibility and accompany the long election day with awareness, wisdom, and discipline. Thanks to you, the democratic picture of this day was completed."
He continued: "You have once again proven, as you have in every event, that you are worthy of trust, respect, and appreciation, thanks to your will, resilience, and confidence in your institution and your country. Our responsibility towards our people and our nation will remain the motivation for us to continue performing the tasks entrusted to us."
