The Egyptian artist Ahmed El-Haggar, brother of singer Ali El-Haggar, passed away at the age of 65, according to local media reports. The news was announced by poet Gamal Bakhit on his official Facebook page, stating: "There is no power and no strength except through God. The angel has departed, Ahmed El-Haggar. I wish I were you, Ahmed."
Ahmed El-Haggar was born on September 7, 1956. He attended the Higher Institute of Arabic Music, where he learned to play the oud and piano, as well as studying musical notation and both Eastern and Western modes. His first composition was the song "E'ذrini" for his famous brother Ali El-Haggar, after which he began composing for several leading singers including Mohamed Fouad, Hisham Abbas, Alaa Abdel-Khaleq, Angham, and Anushka.
The song "Oud" marked the beginning of his fame as a singer, and throughout his artistic career, he released four albums. The late artist mentioned that he could not perform in front of his father and brother Ali due to the deep respect he had for them, considering them to be major figures in the field.
In an interview during the program "Al-Masaa Ma Quswa" aired on TeN channel, Ahmed El-Haggar shared that he played the song "Ya Meshahrani" for the first time in his life while in high school, indicating that he learned from his father's lessons for his brother. He added, "Ali El-Haggar first listened to my work and encouraged me a lot when he heard my first melody. I remember at that moment he was getting ready to leave the house but completely forgot his plans and got engaged with me, which motivated me to continue because I have great confidence in Ali."
It is known that Ahmed El-Haggar was one of the most famous singers and composers of the 1990s, belonging to an artistic family; his father, the great artist Ibrahim El-Haggar, was one of the most prominent singers of the 20th century and a keeper of musical heritage, along with his brother, star Ali El-Haggar.
