Egyptian actor Hani Ramzy mocked the inclusion of his name in the recent bombing that targeted the Iraqi city of Erbil, where his image was circulated on social media as an Israeli intelligence officer killed during the operation. The image that spread rapidly is from Hani Ramzy's film "Abu Al-Arabi," released in 2005.
In a comment on the matter, Ramzy shared a tweet that read: "In your opinion, how will Israel respond to Iran after Tehran succeeded in killing one of the most dangerous Mossad officers in the bombing of Erbil? A picture of the officer who was killed in Erbil is Hani Ramzy, according to sources close to Mossad." Hani Ramzy humorously responded to the picture saying: "The name of the martyr officer is Abu Al-Arabi, not Hani Ramzy, please correct this," referring to his role in the film where his character's father is a "martyr."
Meanwhile, many news pages and accounts on social media deleted their posts after Hani Ramzy revealed the truth about the image, while many laughed at its circulation. It is worth mentioning that "Abu Al-Arabi" is a comedic Egyptian film produced in 2005, directed by Mohsen Ahmed and written by Tarek Abdel Jalil, starring Hani Ramzy, Menna Shalaby, Salah Abdallah, Talat Zakaria, and Wahid Sief.
