Sadness enveloped the residents of Al-Khanka Center in Qalyubia Governorate, north of Cairo, after the funeral of a child who was murdered by his neighbor and buried in the house's basement with the help of her husband and children following his abduction, due to disputes with his mother over a debt of 8,000 EGP. The mother of the deceased child, named Samar, disclosed the details of the incident to the investigating authorities, stating that she was shocked on the day of the incident when her son, Ammar, aged 6, went missing while they were having breakfast with the accused neighbor, who ultimately murdered the child. She noted that the accused and her husband killed him and then came to share a meal with her afterward.
Samar mentioned that the accused, along with her husband and children, pretended to search for Ammar throughout his disappearance, indicating that the accused misled her about the abduction during their search.
During the investigation, the mother explained that the motive behind her neighbor's crime was a financial dispute regarding the 8,000 EGP debt owed by the accused.
Police Investigation
The Qalyubia Security Directorate received a report from the Khanka Police Station regarding a complaint from the child's family, accusing their neighbors of kidnapping and killing the boy after they appeared in surveillance cameras with their son.
Upon inspection and examination, it became clear that there were financial disputes between the 45-year-old neighbor and the mother of the victim. Consequently, she lured the child to her home, killed him with a sharp weapon, and buried him in the house's basement with the help of her husband (47 years old) and their two sons (aged 22 and 25).
The accused were apprehended, and they confessed to committing the crime when confronted with evidence. The Khanka prosecution authorized the burial of Ammar's body in the Qalaj area of Khanka after the autopsy report was completed and ordered the detention of the accused for four days pending investigation, charging the primary suspect with premeditated murder and her husband and sons with concealment and hiding the body.
