Saudi Royal Decrees: Faisal bin Fadl Appointed Minister of Economy, Sultan bin Salman as King's Advisor

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued royal orders early on Monday, which included several appointments. The royal decrees appointed Faisal bin Fadl bin Mohsen Al-Ibrahim as Minister of Economy and Planning.

Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was appointed as a special advisor to King Salman bin Abdulaziz with the rank of minister. A royal order was also issued to appoint Prince Sultan bin Salman as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Non-Profit Foundation. This foundation extends King Salman’s charitable and humanitarian efforts that have spanned decades.

Additionally, Abdullah bin Amer Al-Suwaha was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Authority. Al-Suwaha has served as the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia since April 24, 2017.

Dr. Iman bint Habas bin Sultan Al-Mutairi was appointed as Deputy Minister of Commerce with an excellent rank, and Badr bin Abdul Mohsen bin Abdullah bin Hadhab was appointed as Assistant Minister of Commerce with an excellent rank.

Ahmad bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Issa was relieved of his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, and Dr. Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Subaiti was appointed as the new Chairman. Dr. Al-Subaiti was also appointed as an advisor in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers with the rank of minister.

Ahmad bin Mohammed bin Ali Al-Swayan was appointed as Governor of the Digital Government Authority with an excellent rank.

Notably, the new Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal bin Fadl bin Mohsen Al-Ibrahim, previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning with an excellent rank since February 26, 2018, and was supervising the Secretariat of the Council of Economic Affairs and Development. He is also the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the National Development Fund and has held various key roles at Saudi Aramco, including Vice President of Aramco Development, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for New Business Development, and Manager of the King Salman Global Complex for Maritime Services and Industries project in Ras Al-Khair for commercial and financial affairs.
