On Wednesday morning, Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan, Deputy Chief of Police in Dubai, shed light on sectarianism and its repercussions, referencing events like the bombing in Sadr City, Iraq, on the first day of Eid al-Adha, and the political crisis in Lebanon. In a series of tweets, Khalfan stated: "After more than ten years of joy regarding Saddam, on the same day that Saddam was executed on Eid al-Adha, a suicide bomber detonated himself in Sadr City and killed dozens. Thus, the conflict will be more bloody... more and more, if the scum among the sectarians do not return to reason."
He continued: "A scum of sectarian politicians in Lebanon is obstructing the fate of a nation. A politician who does not consider all sects in his mind and heart will remain foolish. Each sect will maintain its beliefs for eternity. Are we to fight forever over differing narratives? How ignorant you are..."
He added: "Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese mafia in drug dealing, how long will Lebanon remain hostage?"
He elaborated: "When the Houthis attempt to slaughter the people of Marib, they are slaughtering all Arabs. This hatred that this despicable creature harbors is the root of the disaster in Yemen. Even if you differ with me doctrinally, it doesn't justify killing me... as the Houthis, Nasrallah, and Khamenei’s associates do in Ahwaz and elsewhere."
