The Minister of Environment in the caretaker government, Dr. Nasser Yassin, announced ongoing monitoring of air quality at the Port of Beirut and its surrounding areas through an operations room composed of relevant agencies, administrations, and experts, in coordination with the Disaster Management Unit at the Prime Minister's Office.
Minister Yassin published the results of air tests conducted yesterday evening by the CBRN unit of the army and experts from the Environment, Food, and Agriculture Laboratory (LEAF) at the American University of Beirut (AUB) at several locations, confirming that the air was free from toxic substances at the time of testing.
