Ranking of the Top Scorers in the English Premier League Before Matchday Six

The fifth round of the English Premier League saw the outstanding performance of Norwegian star Erling Haaland, a forward for Manchester City, while Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, went scoreless for the second consecutive match. Haaland led Manchester City to a stunning 6-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last Wednesday at the "Etihad" Stadium, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 12th, 23rd, and 38th minutes.

According to statistics from "Opta," Haaland became the first player to score 9 goals in August in Premier League history, breaking the record previously held by English star Harry Kane of Tottenham, who scored 8 goals in 26 matches. Moreover, he became the first player to score 9 goals in his first 5 league matches, surpassing the record of 8 goals held by retired players Mickey Quinn and Argentine Sergio Aguero, a Manchester City legend.

Haaland (22 years old) achieved his second consecutive hat-trick after previously scoring three goals against Crystal Palace (4-2) in the fourth round of the Premier League. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's top scorer and the leading scorer of the last Premier League season, failed to score for the second match in a row, while last season's other top scorer, South Korean Heung-Min Son of Tottenham Hotspur, has yet to find the net this season.
