The star Maya Diab expressed her deep concern about the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Lebanon on the social media platform "Twitter." She tweeted: "Lebanon is suffering and breathing its last. We are confused whether to learn about the news of our loved ones who have entered another world due to the virus, or to pray for those we do not want to lose because they are in hospitals and we cannot see them… or to thank God for the recovery of some people because by chance the virus did not take their lives."
In another tweet, she added: "I can't bear to hear about the departure of loved ones whom the virus has deprived us of even being able to gather to bid them farewell. A broken heart, suffering with no solutions, and calls for hospital beds that are unavailable. COVID-19 has leveled people, rich and poor alike, as neither has a bed."
Maya Diab underwent a COVID-19 test with her daughter Kai to ensure they are in good health, due to Maya filming one of her songs, which requires her to interact with many people and not wear a mask while filming or singing, making her vulnerable to infection. She regularly gets tested because of her work nature, which involves contact with a large number of people. Previously, Maya had shared a "story" on her official Instagram account in which she addressed her audience about the importance of following all precautionary measures to avoid contracting the virus, emphasizing the need to sanitize hands and face and the items we handle, especially mobile phones.
