Several social media pages tracking celebrities in Syria shared a recent photo of Maya and Masa, the daughters of Syrian artist Mohammad Qnoo, who appeared wearing hijabs.
Social media users admired their beauty and elegance, praising their modesty and commitment to wearing the hijab. Although they entered the acting world at a young age, they did not continue for long and chose to step back and wear the hijab.
Meanwhile, Shams, the daughter of director Bassem Malla, posted new pictures along with a video where she was seen in what was described as a bold look, choosing a short black dress with a revealing neckline. Shams often appears in a daring and controversial manner, which led the audience to compare her with Qnoo's daughters, preferring the latter's modesty over Shams's style.
Mohammad Qnoo expressed pride in his daughters and their hijabs, as well as his wife’s hijab, and their adherence to Eastern cultural traditions. He clarified that he is not fanatical about the hijab, indicating that his wife chose to wear it months after their marriage out of complete conviction. Regarding his daughters, Qnoo stated that they were not influenced by their environment to wear the hijab; instead, they embraced it willingly. He remarked that hijab and acting do not go together and mentioned that his daughter Masa would only engage in the arts in the capacity of directing if she chose to do so.
In another context, artist Mohammad Qnoo criticized artist Rasha Rizk for her statements regarding the distribution of contraceptive pills in Syrian camps aimed at reducing birth rates among Syrian refugees. He emphasized that the matter of childbirth is very personal and that no one has the right to intervene.
It is noteworthy that Mohammad Qnoo has played various roles in many Syrian productions; he began his career in the series "Maraaya" with Syrian actor Yasser Al-Azmeh, then participated in several prominent works including "Layali Al-Salihiya" alongside Abbas Al-Nouri and Bassem Kousa, "Gazlan Fi Ghabet Al-Ghazlan" alongside Qusai Khouli, and the famous traditional series "Bab Al-Hara," where he portrayed the role of the husband of Abu Issam's daughter, played by Abbas Al-Nouri.
