The spiritual authority Sheikh Abu Said Anwar Al-Saigh issued a statement clarifying the nature of the communication that took place with Mr. Walid Bey Jumblatt.
The National News Agency reported that the spiritual authority Sheikh Abu Said Anwar Al-Saigh issued a statement clarifying the facts surrounding the communication with Mr. Walid Bey Jumblatt. The statement began with, "Peace be upon those who follow the truth and guidance, tread the path of the esteemed sheikhs, and are saved, for honesty is the first condition of monotheism and the first pillar of faith and the most upright path to salvation."
The statement mentioned that political circles circulated that the esteemed Sheikh Anwar Al-Saigh had contacted Mr. Walid Bey Jumblatt following remarks made by the latter towards the Sheikh, who is above trivial malice and strife. The statement noted that Mr. Walid Jumblatt sought, through intermediaries, to contact the Sheikh to apologize, emphasizing that, out of adherence to the principles of monotheism and respect for the preservation of brotherhood, and with the Sheikh's humility, he accepted the call from Jumblatt.
Sheikh Al-Saigh's statement affirmed that the commitment to unity, reconciliation, and meeting does not come through casting labels and descriptions towards the pure, devout, and alternate sheikhs—people of monotheism and guidance—but through respecting positions and ranks and standing with the thoughts of the wise and good.
Sheikh Al-Saigh urged family and brethren to adhere to safety and preventive measures against the Corona virus, affirming the necessity of reliance on God after reasoning and logic, as nothing befalls us except what God has ordained for us, for He is the Creator, Provider, Protector, and the transcendent who is beyond all characteristics and free from the doubts of polytheists and the schemes of plotters.
Meanwhile, the head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, issued a statement this evening referring to the call that took place with Sheikh Anwar Al-Saigh. The statement indicated that beyond any incidental remarks, reason remains the optimal basis in facing tribulations and difficulties, doing what is right and just.
In a spirit of goodwill, there was an appreciated effort by several esteemed sheikhs, consistent with the good intentions of Sheikh Anwar Al-Saigh to avoid any ambiguity and cut off any unwarranted interpretations. Jumblatt's statement mentioned that he received an appreciated call from Sheikh Al-Saigh today, which clarified matters appropriately, referring to a principle established by Prince Sayyid Al-Tanoukh that states: "Rely completely on God, and do not excuse yourself in negligence. Be diligent in every precaution, for there is no guardian from fate," explaining that reason perceives the beautiful balance between sincere reliance and all precautionary measures, interpreting negligence in language as shortcomings and lack of attention, for which there is no excuse in fulfilling one’s duties within the framework of their human condition, not concerning oneself with the knowledge of God's unseen, as also transmitted from the great Tanoukh.
