Lawyer Faten Moussa Reveals the Reason for Her Divorce from Mostafa Fahmy

Lawyer Inas Fawzi, representing media figure Faten Moussa, the ex-wife of artist Mostafa Fahmy, revealed the behind-the-scenes story and the real reason for their separation. In her statements to ET بالعربي, Inas Fawzi mentioned that motherhood was the secret behind the couple's split, as Faten Moussa had dreamed of becoming a mother and had repeatedly asked Mostafa Fahmy about it, but he consistently rejected the idea of having children and avoided the topic.

Inas Fawzi added that when Faten Moussa insisted on having children, Mostafa decided to divorce her, attempting to hide all evidence related to their marital apartment, claiming he was behind the rumor that Faten had stolen belongings from the apartment.

The lawyer explained that her client, Faten Moussa, received a phone call from Sanaa Lahzi, Mostafa Fahmy's lawyer, on October 27, in which she indicated that the artist may have divorced her and inquired about her belongings and rights. Faten was startled and told her that she was unaware of what she was saying, as she had been living a happy life until the night she traveled to Lebanon.

Artist Hussein Fahmy commented on the issue involving his brother Mostafa Fahmy and ex-wife Faten Moussa during a television interview, with the host questioning Hussein about the ongoing controversy, which led Hussein to interject, urging to keep things as they are.

Mostafa Fahmy issued a statement clarifying the circumstances of the dispute with his former wife, media figure Faten Moussa. He alleged that she intruded into his apartment with the help of "thugs" and committed legal offenses while exploiting his absence from Cairo. Mostafa stressed in the statement that he would not waive his rights, indicating that he had discussed the issue of divorce with his ex-wife several times, with the knowledge of her father and brother, aiming for an amicable separation after their marital life became impossible.

Responding to her claims of misappropriating her personal belongings, he said: "She claims that I took her clothes and shoes, but everyone should know that I married her with only one bag of clothes, and I divorced her with 18 bags of clothes, alongside personal belongings I purchased for her, as well as a new car worth 400,000 pounds that I registered in her name and a delayed dowry of 500,000 pounds."

He noted that he offered her all these amounts and possessions legally and that she received a notice of this offer, which she acknowledged. Still, she did not seek just her legal entitlements; rather, she sought to achieve a substantial financial gain at his expense—according to his claims.

Mostafa added, "She never ceased her financial demands that exceeded my capacity, including requests for me to buy her an apartment in Beirut worth 3 million dollars, a villa with a swimming pool in a resort in Cairo for 12 million pounds, a chalet in the North Coast worth no less than 6 million pounds, and a chalet in Ain Sokhna worth 4 million pounds."

He continued, "I confirmed that the endless demands persisted even though she was unemployed and had no source of income since we married, leading me to believe that our marriage was merely a project for profit, financial gain, and fame at my expense."

Mostafa stated that he divorced her for the mentioned reasons and others, saying: "I preserved her dignity and honor and did not wish to publicly disclose the reasons for the divorce. I offered her all her legal entitlements through official notices she received, but she sought to gain more profits from my life before exiting, whether material or moral, and to achieve fame through her self-fabricated victimhood."

He revealed that his ex-wife admitted during investigations conducted by the prosecutor regarding his complaint against her for breaking into his apartment, and that witness statements confirmed the incident, with investigations still ongoing.
