Investigations revealed that Ziad was experiencing psychological distress after his father refused his marriage to a girl, leading him to commit suicide by jumping from the top of the building where he lived in Ain Shams.
The public prosecutor heard testimonies from the parents of Al Ahly's youth goalkeeper Ziad Ihab after receiving a report about the deceased entering the hospital following his fall from height. The prosecutor examined the young man's body and noted the visible injuries, as well as inspected the scene of the incident and reviewed footage from nearby surveillance cameras.
In the early hours of Sunday, he shocked his family by jumping from the twelfth floor of the building they resided in, resulting in his death. The prosecutor decided to transfer the body to the morgue and assigned a forensic doctor to conduct an autopsy to determine the nature of his injuries, how they occurred, and the cause of death.
Ziad Ihab was 19 years old and was a goalkeeper for the youth team, born in 2003. He was considered one of the standout goalkeepers in the club's youth sector and was a candidate for promotion to the first team in the near future. Ziad regularly participated in matches for Al Ahly's youth team and was known for his commitment both on and off the field.
Khaled Bibo, the director of the youth sector, stated that the young goalkeeper was noted for his competence and high morals, explaining that the late Ziad was one of the most prominent talents in the youth sector at Al Ahly and enjoyed a good character, according to Al Masry Al Youm newspaper. Ziad was the primary goalkeeper for the 2003 Al Ahly team for significant parts of the last season, delivering notable performances, and he was also the starting goalkeeper in the last two matches for the team.
