Swiatek Defeats Tunisian Jabeur to Win US Open Title

Polish player Iga Swiatek, ranked number one in the world, claimed her third Grand Slam title and her first at the US Open by defeating Tunisian Ons Jabeur, ranked fifth, in the final on Saturday. The Polish player won the match in straight sets, with scores of 6-2, 7-6. This marks Swiatek's first major title at the US Open and her third in her career, following her victories at Roland Garros in 2020 and 2022. On the other hand, Jabeur was denied her first major title for the second consecutive time after reaching the final of the Wimbledon Championship this year, where she lost to Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina.
