A 5-degree earthquake on the Richter scale hit the city of Khoy in West Azerbaijan Province, northwestern Iran. The Iranian Seismological Center reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 16 kilometers below the surface. No reports of human casualties have emerged due to the earthquake.
