Pope Francis considered that the major catastrophe in today's world lies in the arms industry. In response to a question from journalists, he pointed out that the world has witnessed three world wars in a century, namely the two world wars and what we are currently experiencing, expressing his conviction that the major catastrophe in the world is "the arms industry." Vatican Radio noted that the Pope recalled the situation in Yemen and the suffering of children in that country from hunger, and he highlighted the Rohingya in Myanmar. He also expressed hope that the recent agreement would stop the conflict in Ethiopia, urging journalists to be advocates of peace and to speak out and fight against war.
