Seismic monitoring stations in Syria recorded a mild earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale, occurring northwest of the city of Palmyra. The National Earthquake Center reported that the tremor struck 56 km northwest of Palmyra at 9:25 AM and was at a depth of 16 km.
