Title: After Yesterday's Events... Hamieh: Everyone is Responsible

The Minister of Public Works and Transport in the caretaker government, Ali Hamieh, pointed out that "all roads in Lebanon were not flooded, except for the Jounieh highway, which means that the problem is localized. The remaining roads, such as Naameh, Ouzai, Antelias, and others, are ready to welcome the winter season and heavy rains."

In a conversation with the electronic newspaper "An-Nabaa," Hamieh noted that "the water that flooded the roads yesterday was muddy, indicating it came from the mountains, especially from the riverbanks. Here, there is a responsibility on the Ministry of Energy and the municipalities to remove encroachments, as well as to clean the internal roadways since only the international roads fall under the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport."

While Hamieh affirmed that everyone is responsible in this matter, he emphasized that the Ministry of Public Works is fulfilling its duties, and the fact that other roads did not flood is a good example. He called for every official to do their part.

Lebanese citizens are not interested in passing the blame and responsibilities; their main concern is to find solutions and put plans in place to face a winter that will be tough on all fronts, including heating. It is essential that the relevant ministries and caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati prioritize files related to the winter season, as the Lebanese people have enough crises and tragedies to deal with.
