Work at 15,000 Lira Begins Today: Confirmation from the Ministry of Industry

The Ministry of Industry issued the following statement: "As of today, the new customs dollar rate set at 15,000 Lebanese lira comes into effect. This measure will not affect industrial machines and raw materials imported for industry and manufacturing in Lebanon. Consequently, the cost of the national industrial product will not be impacted by the new customs regulations, and its usual price based on the dollar set at 1,500 lira will remain unchanged."

The statement added: "The ministry emphasizes that industrialists, traders, suppliers, and distributors should adhere to not changing prices under flimsy pretexts. It warns anyone who exploits, manipulates, or falsifies prices to attain unjust profits, at the expense of citizens already suffering from high prices. The ministry urges citizens and consumers to report any violations they encounter to take the necessary legal and administrative measures against violators and exploiters."
