The Mauritanian government denied reports circulated by Israeli media about establishing bilateral relations. The official spokesperson for the Mauritanian government, Nafi Ould Achrouq, stated in a press conference in the capital Nouakchott: "We do not have relations with Israel. We have no communications with them."
