Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated on Saturday that "the war continues," following his country's successful recapture of the city of Kherson (south) from the Russian military on Friday. During a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in Cambodia, Kuleba emphasized that Ukraine continues to fight for its territorial liberation.
The Ukrainian national anthem was played in Kherson after Russian forces withdrew from the city on Friday. Kherson was the first city to fall at the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine last February.
Kuleba said, "We are winning battles, but the war continues." He added, "I understand that everyone wants this war to end as soon as possible, and we certainly want that more than any other party." He continued, "As long as the war continues and we see Russia mobilizing more conscripts and bringing more weapons to Ukraine, we will certainly continue to rely on your ongoing support."
