Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian announced today, Sunday, that the Iranian government is proposing three locations for a meeting at the level of the foreign ministers of both countries, referring to the latest exchanged messages with Riyadh since the two sides agreed to resume relations. The minister indicated in a press conference in Tehran that his country has agreed to hold such a meeting, without specifying the three locations or mentioning the date of the meeting. Abdollahian added that Tehran is ready to reopen the embassies.
Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed on March 10 to resume relations and reopen the embassies within two months, following years of estrangement. The agreement, facilitated by China, was announced after four days of previously undisclosed talks in Beijing between senior security officials from both sides.
