A senior official at the United Nations indicated today, Wednesday, that "the international organization's humanitarian response plan for Sudan requires $2.56 billion to assist those affected by the crisis there." He stated, "Today, 25 million people, which is over half of the population in Sudan, need humanitarian assistance and protection." He further added, "The funding requirements of nearly $2.6 billion are also the highest for any humanitarian response specific to Sudan."
