A spokesperson for the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported today, Friday, that "the Russian ambassador to Poland has been summoned due to comments made by former Russian children's rights commissioner Pavel Astakhov, who called for the murder of the Polish ambassador in Moscow." The spokesperson, Lukasz Jasina, tweeted, "The Polish side has expressed its strong protest regarding this position and expects immediate legal proceedings and punishment for the perpetrator." Relations between Russia and Poland have further deteriorated since the start of the war in Ukraine, with Warsaw positioning itself among Kyiv's strongest allies.
