The government and people of Pakistan have sent a warship loaded with approximately 800 tons of aid for those affected by the earthquake in Syria. The Pakistani ambassador in Damascus, Shahid Akhtar, told Sputnik, "The aid delivered today to the port is a gift and a duty towards Syria, which has suffered further due to the earthquake," emphasizing that "the international community should fulfill its humanitarian role towards Syria." He added, "This is the first ship, while two more are on their way to Syria, and another is being prepared, alongside continuous flights arriving at Syrian airports, carrying tons of humanitarian and relief aid for those in need."
