Ship Sinks While Heading to Ukraine Off the Coast of Antalya

A ship flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau, which was en route from the Turkish port of Iskenderun to the Ukrainian port of Ismail, sank off the coast of Antalya Province, according to Anadolu Agency. Turkish TRT News reported, citing Antalya Governor Ersin Yazıcı, that "Turkish authorities received a message regarding the sinking of the ship on its way to Ismail, and helicopters have been dispatched to the site; search and rescue operations are ongoing." Initial reports indicate that "5 out of the 14 crew members have been rescued, and the search for 9 other individuals is currently underway."
