Kremlin Welcomes Agreement to Resume Relations Between Riyadh and Tehran

The official spokesman for the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, announced that Russia welcomes the steps taken to ease tensions between Tehran and Riyadh. Peskov expressed Russia's support for "any step that would help reduce the level of tension and improve dialogue in the region" during a press briefing on Monday. He noted that the region is "very unstable, especially when it comes to key regional players such as Saudi Arabia and Iran." Riyadh and Tehran recently signed an agreement to resume diplomatic relations with Chinese mediation, with embassies expected to open within two months.
