Earthquake of 5.6 Magnitude Strikes New Zealand Coast

The U.S. Geological Survey announced that a 5.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded off the eastern coast of New Zealand's North Island. According to a statement, "the earthquake occurred at 14:37 Moscow time, approximately 77.1 kilometers southwest of the city of Whakatane, with the epicenter at a depth of 194.3 kilometers." No reports of casualties or material damage have been announced.
