Kremlin Clarifies Putin's Position on the Arrest of Wall Street Journal Correspondent

The Kremlin denied today, Thursday, a report stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally approved the arrest of Wall Street Journal correspondent Evan Gershkovich, who was detained in Russia at the end of last month on espionage charges. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, "No, this is not the privilege of the president; it is the security services that carry out their work. Again, I would like to remind you that this journalist was caught red-handed."
