A barge carrying 1,400 tons of methanol partially sank in a dam on the Ohio River in Kentucky, according to media reports citing authorities. Authorities closed the gates of the Ohio River dam to prevent leakage of toxic materials. A total of 10 barges were affected, having been separated from a group of towing vessels.
