The Japanese Broadcasting Corporation reported that a 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck Chiba Prefecture early Thursday morning (local time), causing buildings to shake in Tokyo. It noted that there are no tsunami fears following the earthquake. The earthquake was classified as a "strong" level five on the Japanese intensity scale of seven in the city of Kisarazu, Chiba.
