Barcelona announced today, Monday, that defender Ronald Araujo will miss two friendly matches for the Uruguay national team due to a thigh injury he suffered during the victory against Real Madrid on Sunday in La Liga. The club clarified that the return date will be determined based on his rehabilitation program. The Uruguayan Football Association has called up midfielder Sebastian Caceres to replace Araujo for the matches against Japan on March 24 and South Korea on March 28. Araujo played a crucial role for Barcelona, which leads the standings by 12 points ahead of its closest rivals with 12 matches remaining in the season. Uruguay coach Marcelo Bielsa has already had to make changes to his 23-man squad.
