Japan: Sanctions on Russia Must Continue Due to Its Invasion of Ukraine

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi stated today, Friday, that "Japan and like-minded countries must unite and maintain the sanctions imposed on Russia until it ends its aggression against Ukraine." Hayashi believes "it is important for the G7 countries and like-minded nations to maintain their unity and continue to impose strict sanctions on Russia." He added that he "hopes these sanctions will prompt Russia to put an end to its aggression as soon as possible so that we can reach a stage where we can use dialogue and hold discussions for peace."
