Transportation Minister Razak Mohibis Al-Saadawi announced today, Wednesday, the opening of the second public transportation axis in the capital, Baghdad, confirming ongoing serious efforts to open all mass transit axes throughout the capital and other provinces in succession. Al-Saadawi stated that "the second public transportation axis in Baghdad has been opened by activating one of the mass transit lines, previously numbered 61."
He added that "the axis starts from Al-Midan Square, then goes through Al-Rusafah, the Martyrs' Bridge, the Al-Allawi area, and then continues to Al-Zawra, Al-Nasour, the Mansour intersection, followed by the Police Tunnel, Al-Ameriyah, and Shaab Al-Aamal Street."
He indicated that "this line is very important and significant as it assists the low-income residents of Baghdad, passing through many areas, colleges, institutes, malls, and commercial markets. It is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce harmful environmental emissions."
Al-Saadawi confirmed "the intention to open all mass transit axes throughout the capital Baghdad and other provinces, and to activate the 72 routes and lines in the capital in succession."
