Australia and New Zealand celebrated the crowning of King Charles III today, Sunday, by firing 21-gun salutes in their capitals. This followed the participation of the leaders of both countries, who are supporters of the republican system, in the coronation ceremony in London. In New Zealand, the New Zealand Defence Force reported that "the army fired 21 rounds from Point Jerningham in the capital, Wellington."
A military air display was scheduled to take place afterward, but it was canceled due to bad weather, as noted by the Australian Department of Defence on its official Twitter account.
