The Pakistani government confirmed today, Friday, that Saudi Arabia will provide $240 million to finance the hydropower project in Pakistan. The Ministry of Economic Affairs stated in a statement that the project "will contribute to enhancing energy security in Pakistan, increase sustainable water supplies for agriculture and human consumption, and strengthen resilience against floods."
