Pope Francis' Visit is Distant... Uncomfortable with the Ruling Class' Approach

The Secretary-General of the Italian-Arab Friendship Association, Abdelkader Amiche, revealed the intention of Pope Francis to visit Sudan at the beginning of 2023, stating that "the Friendship Association welcomes and encourages this visit, especially since Sudanese people of all backgrounds have love and appreciation for the head of the Catholic Church." He also touched on the Pope's visit to Lebanon, ruling out that it would be soon, as the Holy See is uncomfortable with the ruling class's approach that is characterized by obstructing the democratic process and political reform, and because there is no confidence in the institutions responsible for protecting and maintaining the Lebanese constitution.
