Massive Fire Engulfs Residential Complex in Izmir, Turkey

Seven people were injured yesterday, Thursday, due to a massive fire that broke out in an eight-story building comprising four blocks in the Yeni Kala neighborhood of the Narlıdere district in Izmir, Turkey. A significant number of firefighters and medical teams were dispatched to the scene, the cause of which remains unknown, as the flames rapidly engulfed the entire building. Water cannons from the regional forestry directorate were directed at the building, and residents were evacuated, while explosions could be heard intermittently. Eyewitnesses reported that "some citizens had to jump from the balconies due to the fire."
