Cold Wave Hits Moscow with Temperatures Dropping Below -20°C

The chief expert at the "Phobos" weather center, Mikhail Leus, reported that the night of December 6 was the coldest in Moscow since the beginning of winter, with temperatures plummeting to -22.6°C. Leus stated, "Moscow experienced the coldest night since the beginning of winter, with the lowest recorded temperature at the weather station located in the All-Russia Exhibition Center in Moscow today, Friday, at -22.6°C." He added that the Moscow region recorded the lowest temperature in the city of Taldom, where it fell to -26.1°C. He continued, "Temperatures may drop slightly in the following hours."
