Kyiv: The Situation in Bakhmut is Under Control

Ukraine stated on Friday that "Russian forces have made some progress in the fierce battle for control of the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, but the situation is under control." Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar made her remarks shortly before the Russian Defense Ministry announced that "its attacking forces are now fighting in the western parts of Bakhmut," which is the last area controlled by Ukrainian forces in the city. She wrote on the Telegram application: "The situation is tense, but it is under control. Decisions are made based on military considerations."
