On Wednesday, European judicial delegations listened to the testimony of Rja Abu Assali, the Director of Organization and Planning at the Central Bank of Lebanon, under the supervision of the acting investigative judge in Beirut, Charbel Abu Samra, who is tasked with executing the European requests. The hearing for Rja Salameh, brother of the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, which was scheduled for today, has been postponed to tomorrow, Thursday, at the request of Salameh's attorney and with the approval of French judge Aude Bourizi.
A hearing for Minister of Finance Youssef Khalil is scheduled for Friday. It is noted that the latter has not been notified of the session's timing according to the proper procedures, according to "National Media." Investigations are ongoing with Riad Salameh, Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, alongside his brother Rja, in Lebanon and at least five European countries regarding allegations of taking more than $300 million from the central bank by collecting commissions as fees from bond purchasers and then transferring the money to "Fory Associates," owned by Rja.
