Emergency workers on an island controlled by Taiwan, adjacent to the Chinese coast, conducted drills today, Thursday, simulating a response to a potential Chinese attack. This comes less than a week after Beijing held military exercises around the sensitive Taiwan Strait. The drills took place on the main island of Nangan in the Matsu archipelago as part of Taiwan's annual civil defense training. Ambulances and fire trucks rushed to the power station, where the drills were held, to extinguish fires and evacuate the injured.
