Britain today, Thursday, transferred its ambassador Giles Lever from Khartoum to neighboring Ethiopia, after temporarily closing its embassy in Sudan. The British Foreign Office stated, "From Addis Ababa, the ambassador will lead Britain’s diplomatic efforts in the region to end the fighting in Sudan." Earlier, a spokesperson for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated that "Britain urges the warring parties in Sudan to extend a 72-hour ceasefire that is set to expire later today, Thursday."
