The British newspaper "The Times" reported that Ukraine will join the joint bid for the 2030 World Cup presented by Spain and Portugal. The newspaper clarified that President Volodymyr Zelensky has given his approval for this move, along with the local governments in both Portugal and Spain, to host one of the groups of the 2030 World Cup. The announcement will be made officially by the presidents of the football federations of Spain and Portugal during a press conference scheduled at UEFA headquarters next Wednesday. The British newspaper also mentioned that there are three bids submitted to host the 2030 World Cup: the first bid includes Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay; the second bid includes Spain, Portugal, and Ukraine; and the third bid includes Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Greece. It is worth noting that Qatar is hosting the upcoming World Cup, set to take place from November 20 to December 18, 2022, while Canada, the United States, and Mexico will host the 2026 edition.
