Dubai Airports announced today, Tuesday, that "passenger traffic through Dubai International Airport increased by 55.8% in the first quarter of this year compared to last year, reaching 95.6% of pre-pandemic levels in 2019." The company highlighted that "Dubai International Airport welcomed approximately 21.3 million passengers in the first three months of 2023." The company revised its 2023 forecast upward to 83.6 million passengers, bringing it close to the annual traffic levels of 2019.
Dubai International Airport is connected to 234 destinations, with India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom ranking as the top three countries for passenger numbers during this quarter. The volume of cargo handled was 23% less than in the first quarter of 2022.
