The Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency announced today, Friday, that "at least 11 people have died and others are missing due to a ferry capsizing off the eastern coast of Sumatra Island." They noted that "search efforts are ongoing for one missing person." Officials explained that "the ferry was carrying about 74 people to the small island of Tanjung Pinang near the neighboring country of Singapore and is believed to have collided with a tree trunk about 30 minutes after departing."
