In North Korea: 800,000 Volunteers to Fight the United States

On Saturday, the Rodong Sinmun newspaper announced that nearly 800,000 North Korean citizens applied for voluntary military service within 24 hours to combat the United States, which they claim continually infringes on their country's sovereignty. The newspaper noted that these soldiers are volunteering as a demonstration of their national allegiance and a desire to "eradicate American imperialism from their homeland and its treacherous agents," as well as to unify the Korean Peninsula. It further mentioned that the number of volunteers wishing to join the army or return to military service is increasing daily, highlighting that men are required to serve for 10 years, while women serve for 3 years. The paper indicated that Washington continues its attempts to violate Pyongyang's sovereignty and security interests, claiming that U.S. schemes have reached a level where they are trying to provoke a nuclear war.
