The South African police stated today, Friday, that preliminary reports indicate "ten people from the same family were killed in a shooting in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal province." The police, in a statement, said: "According to initial security reports, unknown gunmen stormed a house and the surrounding area in Pietermaritzburg and ambushed the family. Seven women and three men were injured fatally during the shooting." The statement also mentioned that "Police Minister Bheki Cele and senior security leaders in the country will visit the crime scene later today."
