The Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior arrested a man and his wife who attempted to sell their two children (a boy and a girl) for an amount of 150,000 dollars. The agency stated in a post on its Facebook page that it formed a working team to lure the suspects from Diyala Province to Anbar Province, where they were apprehended with their children during the trafficking attempt, thus saving the children from their parents' malicious intentions. The investigating judge ordered the detention of the suspects in accordance with the human trafficking law and the Iraqi Penal Code.
