Economic expert Patrick Mardini predicts that the Lebanese lira will continue to collapse, especially since the government has not implemented the necessary reforms. He noted that financing the budget is being done through printing lira at the central bank, which will lead to an increase in the money supply. Regarding the impact of the border demarcation issue on Lebanon, Mardini stated in an interview with "Voice of Lebanon" that any revenues generated from oil extraction, which will take at least eight years, will evaporate just like the funds of depositors at the central bank, in the absence of necessary measures. Mardini emphasized the importance of distinguishing between the demarcation process, which ensures regional security, and the exploration of oil wealth in regional waters, asserting that Lebanon is not an oil-rich country until this wealth is found.
